Educational Objectives

We are happy to welcome you into our family here at Leeds International Academy. ‘Academy’ originates from the Greek word Akademie, the famous Greek philosopher Plato called the garden where he taught his followers in Athens. We envision Leeds International Academy to be a garden ‘garden of learning'. Our purpose is to provide an educational atmosphere that models and instills humane character and strong values into children so that they can develop their unique Godgiven personality, mind and gifts to become a positive influence in society. We believe in providing an atmosphere that will stimulate and equip individuals to be active in thinking, questioning, reasoning, understanding and drawing practical conclusions in every situation individually and collectively. To remove the indelible impression of schools as institutions and the age-old dread felt by many children at the thought of school, we attempt to remove this stigma and make education enjoyable and participative.
We aim to promote academic excellence, discipline, character building and social values among the children in a homely atmosphere. This will enable the students towards a full flowering of their potential. We endeavour to create adequate infrastructure and atmosphere to impart quality education
We are now living in the internet age. The world is getting smaller day-by-day. In the realm of education we cannot remain complacent. We can no longer stay confined to the territorial limits of cities, states or nations. Therefore we are ‘international’ – international in incorporating the latest trends, ideas and teaching methods that are used globally and that are relevant to our children. So, they are confident enough to face all challenges of today and tomorrow. Our school strives to keep up with the latest methods and research findings in giving the best to our children.

Co-Curricular Activities

Co-curricular activities are just as much a part of sound education as studies. We believe in instilling a healthy spirit of competition not only with an opponent but with oneself as well. It is often through these activities that various talents are revealed and such qualities as team spirit, self-reliance, creativity, honesty and truth are inculcated. Among these activities are Elocution, Singing, Art and Craft, Hand writing competitions, General Knowledge quiz, Outdoor games, Nature walk, Hiking and Excursions. An Activity week is conducted at the end of the school year in October when the students visit the Fire station, Meteorological Centre, Silk factory, the State museum and ancient historical sites.
Students also have opportunity to hone their talents through various 'clubs’ focusing on area of interest, Students can choose from a variety of interests like Science, Reading, History, Mathematics, Computers, Poetry, Drawing & Art, Needlework & Craft, Gardening, Music & Singing, Classical Indian Dance, Cookery, Eco-club, Dramatics, Postage stamp & Coin collecting clubs.

Social Activities

The mission of holistic education is not contained within the parameters of the premises but shared with the society at large in the form of an Adult Literacy programme for women. Special preference is given to mothers of our students. Students are encouraged to do their part helping fulfill the slogan- 'Each one teach one’.
The Leprosarium is also visited on an annual basic where the children learn to share what they have been blessed with, like clothes, food items, toiletries etc., and to cheer up the inmates with their sweet singing, games and interaction with their kids is also conducted. Projects that serve the need of the society in the field of education and betterment of the student community are adopted from time to time.
